Both IRUS and repositories need to ensure technical processes and data exchanges are maintained and adequate to ensure the efficient and smooth running of the service.
To continue participating in IRUS you will need to:
- Ensure tracker functionality is enabled and correctly configured, and respond to any changes requested by us in a timely manner
- Maintain an OAI-PMH interface and expose identifiers in a way we can consume
- Let us know, at sheila.rabun@lyrasis.org, if there are changes to:
- the IP addresses of your repository
- your repository platform software
- your institution or repository name
- your main contact or technical contact
To ensure the efficient and smooth running of the service, we will:
- Actively monitor repository systems to minimise interruption to statistics and will notify you if we encounter issues, such as if we're not receiving tracker messages or we're unable to connect to your OAI endpoint
- Minimise actions (such as configuration changes) arising from any changes made by us, and if these are required, provide a reasonable time frame and clear instructions
- Specify a date for implementing changes. If requested changes have not been made by that date, we will proceed with the changes at our end, so other repositories are not adversely affected
- Make reasonable efforts to troubleshoot problems
- Contact you periodically to ensure we have the correct information
